If you have a curbing project in mind, look over some of our styles and colors. Think about which style would work best for framing your landscape features. Then fill out the estimate form or give us a call and we will walk you through the process.

Wide Variety of Concrete Curb Options

Color Chart

The following color charts should only be used as guides. TYGAR™ supplies the industry’s most trusted integral dry concrete color designed specifically for use in decorative curbing. We offer TYGAR Curb Colors™ in 24 radiant colors to match any design. Our concrete is mixed with pigment, producing a curb that is colored throughout and will not chip off or peel.

Release Agents

Release agents are custom mixed with integral colors and applied after finishing the install to add extra color, depth, and an antique effect. Sealer is then applied to protect colors and enhance color tones. These color charts represent approximate shades due to individual screen settings.

The Process

After you have chosen your color and style and signed off on the work order, we will schedule a day for our crew to install your new landscape curbing.

All sprinklers need to be marked with paint or flags the night before installation. We use a sod cutter to cut a path for the curb to be laid down in, a path about 1 to 2 inches deep. If you already have edging like plastic, metal, etc. then it needs to be removed before the crew arrives. Or our crew can run on the outside of the existing border and it can be taken out at a later time, but it will result in a slightly larger landscape bed.

The day our crew arrives we will look over the job to mark places that we will put drainage for water shed, and then the sod cutting process will begin. Once the sod has been removed we will start mixing our concrete using a mixer mounted onto our custom trailer. The mix will be put into one of our power barrels that will not disturb your lawn. The mix will then be put into our curb machine where the magic starts to happen a shovel at a time. Our curb machine is a specialized machine that only weighs 200 pounds so that it will not disturb your lawn or flower beds. Once the curb has started to be laid, our crew will start coloring and texturing the pattern that you have chosen. All of our curbs have stainless steel cable that runs through the center. The reason we use stainless is because we have noticed that galvanized steel cable will break down over time. The cable helps with separation due to ground movement. Our crew will put control joints every two feet for the relief of stress in the concrete as it cures. We are essentially putting cracks in ahead of time so that the curb will expand in the control joint.

The sealing process will bring out the colors and help protect your curb from the elements. Once we leave the job site, do not do anything around the curb for 48 hours after installation which means leaving your sprinkler off and keeping your children and animals away. The curb will look and feel hard but can still be damaged.
